Why is your maternal grandmother so important?
Did you know that your first appearance on this planet was in your grandmother’s womb? A baby girl has all her eggs formed while still in the womb. So, when your mother was developing in her mother’s womb (your grandmother), she was already nurturing you.
I invite you to explore your grandmother’s life from your mother’s side. You might be surprised by how much of your personality reflects hers. Personally, I never had the chance to meet my grandmother; she passed away long before I was even conceived. Yet, her experiences and life path have profoundly influenced me. I was amazed to discover how similar we were.
Delving into ancestral karma can be tricky. Once you start looking into it, you might sense your ancestors trying to connect with your energy field to work through their own karma. You have the power to help them by clearing their energy and aiding their ascension. However, be cautious; the last thing you want is to get pulled into their negative karmic paths. You don’t want your life hijacked by their issues.
What’s essential is to clear your connection with them of any negative karma so you can begin to feel their steadfast support, tap into their positive experiences, and sense their strength behind you. You are not alone. They can stand behind you and uplift you. This work is powerful and significant for your family.
Another insight I’ve had is that our family lines follow a female lineage, not a male one. You inherit your mitochondria from your mother, and she inherits them from her mother, tracing all the way back. I believe we should use our mother’s last name instead of our father’s. This would give us a better understanding of where we truly come from, honouring the feminine aspect. I even considered changing my last name to that of my great-great-grandmother, but her last name was her father’s. Unable to trace back to her true maiden name, I decided to keep my father’s last name and create my own lineage. I encourage my daughters to retain their maiden names and pass them on to their daughters. I see the feminine lineage as the trunk of a tree, while the father’s line represents the branches added to that tree.
Please don’t misunderstand me; I don’t harbour any animosity towards men or diminish their role. We each have our own unique roles, energy blueprints, and purposes in this life—that’s all there is to it.
It’s crucial for females to find their rightful place in the family tree, so it’s worth learning about and healing your female lineage.
